Frequently Asked Questions

Are you taking new clients?
Yes I am currently taking new clients.

Is there a deposit? How much is it?
There is a deposit of $15 due once you request an appointment, your appointment will not be approved without it. DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

What payment methods do you take?
All deposits can be sent via Zelle/ Apple Pay or through Venmo (ananda-packer). I prefer cash the day of your appointment, but if you must pay with a different paying method there will be a $3 fee applied.

When do your bookings open?
Bookings open every 18th of the month.
(Ex: November bookings open October 18th)

What happens if I need to cancel?
If you must cancel, please notify me at least 48 hours prior to your appointment so I can make the proper adjustments. All deposits are non-refundable and do not roll over. All new appointments require a new deposit.

What length can I start my locs with?
You must have at least 3-4 inches of hair to start your locs.

What do I book under?
Prices vary for adults vs kids and the  categories will break it down for you as far as what you're seeking. Utilize the add-ons as well to ensure the appropriate time and price and being applied to your appointment. All prices and descriptions can be seen under the services.

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
I ask that you only bring yourself to your appointment. Seats are limited in the shop and whomever is not getting serviced will have to return when you are finished or wait outside.

How frequently should I be getting retwisted?
Once you start your locs, for the following year you should be getting your hair retwisted between 3-4 weeks, no later than 4-6 weeks. This is crucial to your loc process. Once your locs are matured after that year and on, you can get your locs done no sooner than a month and no later than 3 months after your previous retwist.

Can I wet my hair?
Its best you do not get your hair wet at LEAST during the time period of just starting your locs and 6 months into your loc journey. This can interrupt your locing process. If you must get your hair wet, a swimming cap is highly recommended to protect your hair.

What do I use on my hair?
There isn't really anything specific you should use on your hair besides water for hydration. As far as moisturizers, light oils such as coconut, jojoaba, argan, grapeseed oils help maintain moisture as well as refrain from adding build up to the locs. Hydrating mists and leave in conditioners can also be used as a resort for hydrating and moisturizing your hair. I sell oils, hydrating mists and hair covers/ protectants at the salon.

What do I use to wrap my hair?
Use whatever works best for you. Options can be a bonnet, durag, wave cap, or scarf. Some things work better for others.
